Origins of Kung Fu
The first Chinese fighting systems originating in the Zhou Dynasty (between the twelfth and third century BC) and was known as Jiao LI.  It was a form of combat used to keep the army prepped for battle.  Jiao Li combined wrestling with striking and joint locking (or joint attacks) making it a very well rounded martial art system.  By the Qin Dynasty (221 BC - 207 BC) Jiao Li further evolved into a combat sport mirroring modern day MMA tournaments

Jiao Li later formed into Shuai Jiao a system that encompasses vast amounts of wrestling and throwing skills and Kung Fu a style of Chinese boxing that involves various forms of Self Defense.
In more recent times many Kung Fu styles have further evolved into an art form that combines aesthetic mysticism with combat arts.

My personal path is to hold true to Kung Fu's Ancient origins and teach its applied realistic combat while keeping the essence of the Kung Fu Core training
